Today, Farm Team PAC announced its endorsement of 24 exceptional local candidates for the
April 1, 2025 municipal election. The Farm Team PAC was founded by Congresswoman Lauren
Underwood in 2019 to elect exceptional candidates to state and local office across the 14th
congressional district.

It is with great pleasure that I endorse Ms. Susan Demming to continue to serve on the Indian Prairie School District Board of Education. Susan brings her corporate and education, non-profit marketing background to the table. Ms. Demmings’s leadership has been evident since being seated in 2017. Throughout her years on the Board, she has served as both Secretary and currently as Vice President. During her tenure, many important school district decisions have been implemented. Boundaries have been adjusted, and a building referendum has been passed to provide learning environments that will provide 21st century education to our children for years to come. Most recently, Susan has been recognized as an Illinois Association of School Boards Distinguished Leader. She authored the Illinois Association’s Belief statement on equity. Also, with her assistance, District 204 continues to provide Board member training sessions at the annual School Boards Convention. As a result, the Indian Prairie 204 School Board continues to be recognized with their Governance Award. In conclusion, Ms. Susan Demming does deserve your serious consideration. She serves as a model for the community and her Board of Education colleagues. She is a humble, dedicated, servant leader. With your vote, she will continue to be a true asset to our school district.

Endorsement Statement for Susan Taylor Demming

Candidate for Indian Prairie District 204 School Board

February 2025

 

During my last three years as Superintendent of Indian Prairie District 204, I had the pleasure of working with Susan Taylor Demming during her first term as a school board member. Susan hit the ground running. It was immediately clear that she had a pulse on the community and that she was committed to continuing to push the school district on its journey for equity of access and opportunity for all students and families. She has been an active board member and was one of the Board representatives for the Engage 204 community engagement process. Susan helped lead the IPSD 204 Board work on their equity belief statement and then went on to successfully push for adoption of an equity belief statement at the state school board level. Since my retirement, Susan has gone on to provide leadership on the Board as the Secretary and she currently serves as the Board Vice-President.

In the past decade, Indian Prairie has been consistently ranked as one of the top school districts in the state of Illinois. One reason has been the presence of a highly functional and professional school board.  As a school board member, Susan Taylor Demming has made valuable and impactful contributions to not only the Indian Prairie community but at the state level through her work with the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB). She has committed to continuous learning and development by earning the Distinguished Board Leader honor through the IASB.

Susan governs with compassion, intelligence, and calm. She is the kind of school board member that the Indian Prairie School District needs and deserves. I fully endorse her candidacy for the Indian Prairie District 204 School Board.
